Surviving Fast Food
You might think that fast food is guaranteed to reduce your health. While this is generally true, there are practical things you can do to dramatically improve its impact on your health and performance.
Fast food tends to be high in fat, carbohydrate, and calories. By eating half portions, and when possible including a salad, the rate at which calories enter the bloodstream will be dramatically reduced. In the photo you see me eating a hotdog at the San Francisco Carnival with my friend Marcello. I shared this hot dog with others to reduce the calories I was eating.
In addition to eating only half (at most 2/3) of a fast food meal at any one sitting, adding vegetables (including salad) will dramatically slow digestion rate of the calories entering the blood stream, making a meal of any size more productive. In the photo you see a Chipotle burrito bowl next to a bowl of lettuce that only cost 60 cents. What a bargain to make the whole meal healthy instead of unhealthy!
